Landfill Avoidance through Beneficial Reuse

On the Spotlight Stage on the first day of LOUPE, Tim Bohlke, Executive Director Strategic Partnerships and Business Development, Flexcon, shared his innovative strategy for repurposing label matrix and other byproducts from the label manufacturing process, reducing environmental impacts by moving away from landfill and waste-to-energy incineration.

Through our partnership with Innovative Waste Strategies (IWS), 25,400 pounds of label matrix from the 2026 LOUPE Americas Expo was diverted from disposal.

Beneficial Reuse


Through our partnership with Innovative Waste Strategies (IWS), 25,400 pounds of label matrix from the 2026 LOUPE Americas Expo was diverted from disposal.
The material was converted into alternative engineered fuel and used to replace coal in cement manufacturing.
Flexcon was proud to support this important beneficial reuse initiative as part of our commitment to sustainability.
