“The primary focus of the Quality group in Columbus is to test inline processes and outgoing material to ensure materials going out the door fall within specifications. If we’re coating everything within the spec, then the likelihood of a performance issue will be very small.

There are occasions where we’ll see something change, and we must figure it out, adjust, and make improvements. This is a part of my job I truly enjoy – problem-solving where I must dig in – gather data to figure out what’s really going on vs. what folks might be speculating. I also love the diversity with so many different products.

Finally, I’m always learning. After 19 years with the company, I still get excited about learning something new – new processes, new ways of collecting, formatting and reading data - to understand what’s happening and ensure consistency for our customers. Then, I can go home satisfied and ready to take on my next home improvement project and coach youth baseball, which I’ve been doing since my kids were little. Watching the players progress from early in the season to the end when they really get it is a beautiful thing to behold!”
