THERMLfilm® HT High-Temperature Films

For optimum performance in high-temperature labeling applications, printability and heat resistance are just two key factors to consider. FLEXcon’s new THERMLfilm® HT line meets these challenges.

NEW!  PEN Products for High-Temperature Automotive, Aerospace and Electronics Applications
The newest addition to the THERMLfilm® HT line is our PEN (polyethylene naphthalate) films which perform at intermittent temperatures up to 500˚F (260˚C). They have undergone rigorous testing which includes being subjected to five cycles of fluctuating temperatures, varying humidity levels and chemical exposure. This ensures that our PEN films can withstand the heat, abrasion and chemical factors of a wide range of high-temperature uses and are ideal for automotive, aerospace and consumer electronics applications.

Polyimide Products for Printed Circuit Board Labeling Circuit Board
Our polyimide films are designed for printed circuit board applications and can withstand the fluctuating temperatures, abrasion and chemicals of the PCB manufacturing process. They are engineered to handle intermittent heat up to 750° F (398°C) so that crucial asset tracking information remains intact. Certified by ITW Thermal Films and Speedline Technologies, these polyimide products printed with ITW Thermal Films B324 Durable Extreme Series Resin thermal transfer ribbon passed print quality and adhesion tests when exposed to the following conditions:

  • No lead reflow profile, wave solder and five (5) in line wash cycles through the Aquastorm® 200
  • Lead reflow profile and five (5) in line wash cycles through the Aquastorm® 200
  • No lead profile, no wave solder and five (5) in line wash cycles through the Aquastrom® 200
  • “Pink Death” Flux – Alpha Cookson Water Soluble 3355-11
  • Cleaning agent – ZESTRON VIGON® A 201

The test equipment included: ELECTROVERT OmniMax Reflow Oven, ELECTROVERT VectraElite Wave Solder and ELECTROVERT Aquastorm® 200 In Line Cleaner. The polyimide label/ribbon combinations withstand the in-line reflow and cleaning processes without loss of informational integrity or adhesion, and carry UL PGJI2 recognition. These polyimide products have undergone chemical testing pursuant to MIL-STD-202G, Notice 12, and MIL-STD-883E, Notice 4.

Super Smooth Topcoat for High-Density Barcodes
Designed specifically for high-density barcode and alphanumeric information, the topcoat on all THERMLfilm® HT products has static dissipating properties that minimize the risk of print voids, and its super smooth surface allows for printability of up to 600 dpi for consistent ANSI scanning.
