FLEXcon and NeXolve Partner to Deliver Two New Polyimide Solutions
Date: February 26, 2013FLEXcon, an innovator in adhesive coating and laminating, today announced a collaboration initiative with NeXolve, a wholly owned subsidiary of ManTech International Corporation and manufacturer of high-performance polymer materials, to help them expand two commercial solutions: Thermalbright® Polyimide and CP1 Polyimide. FLEXcon uses its equipment to coat NeXolve technologies onto other films to make multilayer roll products. The roll products are used to develop finished components that NeXolve and their clients use in various industries.
“FLEXcon has worked successfully with a number of organizations and individuals, from engineers and designers to scientists, to help them develop commercially viable products for a variety of industries,” said Shirley Monte, Business Development Manager, FLEXcon. “This partnership combines NeXolve’s scientific capability to turn chemistries into innovative applications with our manufacturing expertise and solutions, successfully bringing their products to market.”
“We need to partner with a manufacturer that can deliver an array of solutions designed to fit the specific needs of our customers from a variety of industries,” said Garrett Poe, Program Director, NeXolve. “By forming this strategic relationship with FLEXcon, we are able to provide a unique set of finished products to serve the electronics, industrial and aerospace markets.”
NeXolve’s Thermalbright Polyimide is a breakthrough high temperature, highly reflective opaque white polyimide film that exhibits the lowest moisture uptake of all commercially available polyimides. Typical polyimides are orange colored and highly absorptive when filled with white pigments, however Thermalbright is bright white in color and contains no silicones, acrylics or non-polyimide polymers. Thermalbright is ideal for use as thermal control materials, high temperature labels, high temperature reflective materials, and other applications requiring long duration exposure to extreme environments while retaining high reflectivity. It is commercially available in rolls up to 60" wide, as well as in castable and sprayable liquids.
NeXolve’s CP1 Polyimide exhibits very low moisture uptake, has the lowest dielectric constant of commercially available polyimides, and is highly transparent and colorless, making it an ideal choice for interlayer dielectrics, electronics, displays and aerospace applications. Additionally, continuous rolls are available now in thicknesses as low as 2.5 microns (0.1 mil) and in widths up to 60 inches (152 cm).
