FLEXcon’s Ken Koldan Elected Chair of the UID Supplier Alliance

    Date: December 22, 2009

Ken Koldan, a New Business Development Manager for FLEXcon’s Product Identification Team, was recently nominated and elected as the Chairperson of The UID (unique identification) Supplier Alliance (USA) Committee.

Koldan joined FLEXcon in April 2008 and provides the Spencer, MA-based company’s expertise and product solutions to design engineers and economic buyers within the consumer electronics, HVAC, security, and appliance markets. He has also authored technical articles on choosing the right pressure-sensitive film for successful UID marking and building a sound strategy for product and brand security.

“Ken is a great proponent of UID, and with an aggressive 2010 agenda, it’s great to have him on board as chair of the UID Supplier Alliance,” says former chairman Gary Moe, President of ID Integration, Inc., a marking and identification systems integrator based in Mukilteo, WA.

The UID Supplier Alliance (USA) is a committee within an organization representing providers of automatic identification and mobility hardware, software and solutions known as AIM North America. The UID Supplier Alliance is dedicated to raising the awareness and adoption of the UID Policy within the federal Department of Defense and among the agency’s contractors.

AIM has been instrumental in helping the military and organizations in manufacturing, aerospace, logistics and other automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) technologies. The organization has helped develop and standardize many of the technologies used today, including the Data Matrix bar code symbology at the heart of the IUID program.

The UID Supplier Alliance USA Committee has representatives from 23 companies; many include most leading providers of UID technology and solutions. Collectively these members have helped implement hundreds of successful UID marking and data management systems, and have seen how the systems benefit maintenance, inventory, production and traceability operations for the military and contractors alike.
