FLEXcon, a leading manufacturer of pressure-sensitive films, today was named a finalist by the Label Industry Global Awards in the Continuous Innovation category. This award honors long-established suppliers or converterswhohave made significant contributions to innovation, growth and excellence in the label industry.
FLEXcon was chosen as a finalist for being an innovator and successful collaborator in pioneering many trends that are today’s accepted practices. As a leading global polymeric coating resource, FLEXcon was a leader in developing glass bottle labeling technology for the spirits industry and was also at the forefront of creating surface coatings in collaboration with thermal transfer ribbon suppliers and thermal transfer printer manufacturers. These coatings gave both chemical and mechanical bonds to the surface of the film, enabling the use of thermal transfer printers for high-end super durable bar code applications. Since these processes were new, FLEXcon also took part in proactively educating the industry about the practical use of these advancements.
“FLEXcon is honored to be named a finalist for the Label Industry Global Awards. Our company is committed to remaining a leader in our industry. We constantly seek to uncover new innovations, and always take the initiative to educate the industry about these exciting changes,” said Neil McDonough, president and CEO, FLEXcon. “We operate with a high standard of ethics, strive to be a responsible corporate steward of the environment and encourage eco-friendly business practices.”
