FLEXcon, an ISO 9001:2008 certified manufacturer, adopted Lean Manufacturing processes in 2003. The company has used Lean processes to dramatically reduce waste and in-plant transportation costs while improving product delivery time. These efforts continue. In addition to using such Lean concepts as Cellular Manufacturing, Kaizens, and Kanbans, FLEXcon uses visual reinforcement (including visual scheduling) to help sustain its Lean efforts.
We are noted within its industry and within manufacturing circles for how effectively it has integrated Lean culture into all levels of the organization. FLEXcon’s Lean achievements have been highlighted at trade events such as Labelexpo, and in trade publications, including Labels & Labeling magazine.
FLEXcon has co-sponsored a Lean Champions Roundtable with the Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MassMEP). There, the company shared its Lean approach with representatives of a variety of industries including precision tools, curtains/draperies, footwear soles, foam tape, fiber optics, screen printing, electronic packaging, plastic injection molding, and beverages.
